Honors Choir

Honors choir next rehearsal is next Monday at 3pm.and Wednesday at 8am in the auditorium.

Flag Football

Yesterday's flag football action saw two close games where both teams played hard and together! Georgia snuck by LSU 22 to 21, and Notre Dame completed the come-from-behind win vs. Ohio St. 27 to 21. There were multiple impressive plays made on the turf as Alex Sawyer reeled in a nice interception, Juliana Alden played well for Georgia, David Halley had a miraculous reception for a 3-point conversion, and Wesley Roberts was impressive with his QB skills and honesty. Congrats to all teams!

The next flag football games are scheduled for Monday, December 3rd:

  • Packers vs Chiefs

Newspaper Club - Need Everyone Tuesday!

Newspaper Club is due to fold and distribute the first issue of the year on Tuesday. We need all members present if possible. If students are interested in finding out more about what newspaper club is about, this is a good day to come, as we will also be brainstorming ideas for the February issue and starting to assign stories and other features.

Picture Re-Take Day Monday

Picture Re-Take Day is this Monday, December 3. 

Students who already took a picture but want to do a new one should bring in the first set of photos to turn in.

Those who were absent on 10/31 and are doing photos for the first time can get a form in the office and send students in on Monday with payment, or you may order online with a credit card at mylifetouch.com and use the Picture Day ID OB018156Q1.

BHS Play Tonight Through Sunday

Beverly High School Stage Right presents The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe at BHS Friday, November 30 through Sunday, December 2.

It's a quick show--no more than 90 minutes. Performances are 7 PM Friday 11/30, 2PM and 7 PM Sat. Dec 1st, and an afternoon performances at 2 PM Sun. Dec. 2nd. Tickets for adults are $10, seniors and students $8, and children under 6 $5.

Public Library - Teen Events

The Beverly Public Library teen programs for students in grades 6-12 has some great events coming up!

Henna Tattoos - Friday, December 7, 2018 from 12-2 PM in the Sohier Room
For teens only (grades 6-12)!  Get an awesome henna tattoo (or two!). We’ll have snacks and a craft to work on while you wait for your turn. You must bring a signed permission slip to the event. Print one here or pick up in the teen area of the library.

Teen Lego Build - Tuesday, December 11, 2018, 3:30-4:30 PM in the Sohier Room
Stop by and build something AWESOME with our Legos! And yes – there will always be snacks!

Girls Who Code Club Information Session - Monday December 17, 2018, 4-5PM in the Sohier Room
Interested in building a website or cool app? Want to work as a team and build a project you care about? Join the new Girls Who Code Club. This club is free for teens in grades 6-12. No coding experience necessary. Just bring your commitment to trying something new. Come to the information session (parents and guardians welcome) to learn more. Club registration will be in January, with a club start date of February 4th. Interested in helping facilitate the club? Facilitators must be 18+ years old and have a passion for the mission of GWC. Read a great book, discuss it, and eat free Pizza! Pizza Book Club is open to teens in grades 6-12, but is especially good for middle school. (BMS students: Ask your teacher if Pizza Book Club can fulfill your independent reading requirement.) Our book this quarter is Unwind by Neal Shusterman. Pick up a copy at the circulation desk on the 2nd floor of the public library. This event requires registration. Register here!

Early Release & No School Days in December

BMS students will be released early at 12:15pm on Thursday, December 6. Parent Afternoon Back will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on December 6.

There is no school for all Beverly Public School students on Friday, December 7 due to a staff development day.

Please note that Friday, December 21 is a full school day. Students will be released at 3:00 pm. There is no school from Monday, December 24 through Tuesday, January 1 for December Vacation. Classes resume on Wednesday, January 2.

From the Sports Desk

Yesterday's Flag Football games were some of the most thrilling of the season! Each game was decided in the last 2 minutes of the game. Alabama narrowly escaped Georgia 32 to 30, Texas inched out LSU 26 to 24, and Ohio St. won on a last minute TD catch over Boston College. Star players featured Lucas Carbone who threw for 5 TD passes, Micah McManus who threw for 4 TD passes, Cody Belanger who caught a 75-yard TD bomb, Colby Malionek who scampered in for a TD through a full team of defenders, and Kyle Heckman who was making plays all over the field! Great job by all teams!

The next set of Flag Football games are on Thursday, November 29th:

Math Team Meet at Shore Thursday

Math team will meet on Thursday in the first floor cafeteria, near the library, at 2:50 to head to Shore for the math meet. Make sure to bring all of your stuff for the day as we will not return to the middle School. 

Students need to arrange for pick up at Shore around 5:30pm. Also dress appropriately for the weather as we will be walking to Shore.

Newspaper Club

Newspaper Club meets today (Tuesday) after school in the library. We are finishing up the first issue, so don't be late! Next week we need all hands on deck to fold and distribute the paper.

Flag Football

Monday's Flag Football action saw some magnificent plays on both sides of the ball as BC outlasted Michigan 35 to 21 and Miami was victorious over Penn St. 20 to 6. Star players yesterday included Paul Lydon who caught a 60-yard bomb from QB, Elvis Perez, who also had an interception. Sean Costa hauled in 2 TD catches, Domonic Nunez threw for a TD late in the 2nd half, and Colin Fidler took a 100-yard interception all the way back for a TD. Congrats to all teams!

Fab Lab

Fab Lab will not be meeting today. Session 2 should start next week. The names of students in session 2 are posted on room 316's door.

Before & After School Remiders

We'd like to remind families that the doors open to BMS students at 8:00 am.

In the afternoon, students may remain in the building or on school property after 3:15 only if they are at a supervised after-school activity or working with a teacher. They cannot "hang out" in the hallways or cafeteria. 

The late bus is for students who regularly ride the bus and who are at school for a supervised activity. 

The library is typically open until 3:45 Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, but hours may vary slightly and are updated daily on a board by the library.

Honors Choir

Honors choir rehearsal is today at 3pm in room 155.

Fab Lab Session 2

Due to a scheduling conflict, session 2 of Fab Lab will not meet tomorrow. Instead it will begin next week. The students selected for session 2 have been posted on room 316's door.

Student Council

Student council will be meeting today after school in room 313A. New members are always welcome!
