Cross Country

Attention cross country runners: all qualifying runners for Tuesday's NEC meet have been posted outside of the gym. Congratulations to all runners on a fantastic season! 

Also, all black and orange team members mark your calendars: all runners are invited to attend the annual Marc Burns Memorial Meet on Wednesday, November 7th here at Beverly Middle School. 

We will be collecting food donations; all are encouraged to bring canned goods and other non-perishable food items.

Field Hockey

Today is the last field hockey game of the season for our Middle School team. Please meet the bus behind the school as soon as possible after school, and we will be traveling to Stackpole Field in Saugus. If you have $3 for our pizza on Monday, please give that to Coach McGrath in room 444 at your earliest convenience.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Beverly Middle School  Student Council is running a food drive to collect food for Beverly Bootstraps from October 29 through November 9. They are trying to collect some of the most-needed foods by focusing on particular items for each grade level.

  • Grade 5: Stuffing mix & canned vegetables
  • Grade 6: Cake/brownie/bread mixes and instant mashed potatoes
  • Grade 7: Canned gravy, chicken broth, cream of mushroom soup
  • Grade 8: Cranberry sauce & French's Fried Onions
Other items are welcome, but please no glass jars!  The collection box will be in the main lobby of the school, outside the office.

YMCA Teen Dance Tonight

There will be a YMCA Teen Dance held tonight at the Teen Center! It will run from 7pm-10pm. You can come to the Y with your friends, hang out, and dance throughout the night. Only $10 per student, snacks and drinks are sold for $1-$2 each. All students must be picked up no later than 10:15pm.

Art Club on Monday for grades 5 & 7

Art Club meets on Monday 10/29 for students in grades 5 and 7 only. Grades 6 and 8 will come the following week.

Flag Football

In yesterday's Flag Football action, both the Patriots and the Chiefs were victorious over the Rams and the Cowboys, 12 to 6. The jam-packed action was highlighted by Christian Gauthier's 60-yard touchdown catch and nifty moves by slot receiver Robert Felix.

The next set of Flag Football games is this upcoming Monday, October 29th. Ohio St. will face off against Penn St., while Georgia takes on Florida!

Field Hockey

Just a reminder that the field hockey team has an away game at Seaside Park in Marblehead today. Please get changed quickly and meet the bus out back as soon as possible after school. We would like to leave as soon as possible. As always, please see Coach McGrath in room 444 with any questions and/or concerns.

Gr 7 Peer Leaders

This message is for any 7th graders who have been invited to participate in the Peer Leader Training. There will be a short meeting next Tuesday, October 30th right after school in Ms. Nichols room 226 for information about the training. Cross Country

Attention all cross country team members: just a reminder that practice is cancelled today. Runners who qualify for next Tuesday's NEC meet will be announced tomorrow, and will be attending practice after school on Monday.

Also, the annual Marc Burns Memorial Meet will be held this Wednesday; the location of the meet will be announced tomorrow. All cross country members are strongly encouraged to attend this meet.

Scouts Halloween Party Sunday

Come to a Halloween Party and learn about Cub Scouts! It's on Sunday, Oct. 28 from 2-4pm at CIS Hall at 437 Essex St. This is for girls and boys in grades K-5.

From 5-8pm if you eat a meal at Fuddruckers off 128 in Reading inside the Jordan's Furniture building off exit 39 (route 128/95). The music department will receive 20% of your total bill. Also we will be raffling off gift baskets and two tickets to the Broadway musical Hamilton! Once again we will be meeting at the Fuddruckers in Reading off 128.

Holiday Craft Fair at BHS 11/3

The BHS Class of 2019 is sponsoring a Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday, November 3 from 9am to 3pm in the BHS Field House.

With more than 50 crafters, you can get your holiday shopping done early at the BHS Holiday Craft Fair Sat. Nov. 3, 9 - 3 in the BHS Field House. There will also be raffles, a face painter, and more. This is a fundraiser for the senior class of 2019.

Flag Football News

Congrats to the Boston College and Michigan Flag football teams Monday on their victories. BC won 13-6 over Notre Dame, while Michigan squeaked by Miami 8-7. Great sportsmanship was had by all teams and players!

Newspaper Club

Newspaper Club meets after school in the library on Tuesdays. Students joining are asked to return this form, completed by a parent or guardian at their earliest convenience. A hard copy is available to students when they come to a meeting.

Our members enjoy having a small snack when they arrive and sign in, but in order to purchase snacks we ask that all who are able to please contribute either $5 in cash or an equivalent amount in individually-wrapped snacks (nut free please). They can drop snacks off with Ms. Woznick before school.
