Lisa Oliver Becomes (Permanent) Principal of BMS

This message went out on Thursday to the BMS community. It is repeated here for your reference.

Good Afternoon BMS Parents and Families,

I am writing to you today to share some wonderful news with all of you. I am please to announce to all of you that Mrs. Lisa Oliver has accepted the permanent position as principal of the Beverly Middle School! Earlier this month, I reached out to both the staff and the school community for feedback regarding this school year. After reviewing the overwhelmingly positive feedback from both parents and staff, combined with my day to day observations, I extended an offer to Mrs. Oliver to become the permanent principal. I am so happy to share that she has agreed. This has certainly been an unusual year to assume leadership of any building, and in particular the largest middle school in Massachusetts! Throughout it all, Mrs. Oliver has demonstrated grace and poise, and the strength of her leadership is noticed every day in every interaction with students, staff and families. Please join me in congratulating her on becoming your permanent principal! Congratulations Mrs. Oliver!!

Thank you,

Sue Charochak, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools

Placement Change Requests

The following message went out to families by email on Sunday evening and is included here for your references.

Dear BMS Families,

As you may be aware, the school committee voted for students to return to school full time beginning April 12th for our middle school students. The schedule will be 8:45-3:00 on each day with the exception of Wednesdays. Students will be dismissed on Wednesdays at 1:00 with a grab and go lunch. There will NOT be remote classes in the afternoon.

The RLA stays intact. If you are in our RLA and choose to stay there, the option is available until the end of the school year.

If you are interested in making a change for the third trimester, please email you assistant principal before Wednesday, March 17th. Please note that this is a follow up to a previously sent survey. If you have already spoken with an assistant principal you do not need to reach out again.
