A Wrinkle in Time at BPL Next Week

The Beverly Public Library is screening A Wrinkle in Time after school on Thursday, December 19 and pizza will (as always) be served.

It's for teens only (well, kids in grades 6-12) and it gets started at 3:45.

There is no math team today because of the half day see you next week(12/19) for practice.

No School Tomorrow

There is no school for students tomorrow, Friday, December 13 for a staff development day.

December Vacation is from Monday, December 23 through Wednesday, January 1, 2020. The last day of school before vacation will be on Friday, December 20. This will be a full day and students will be dismissed at 3:00 pm on this day. Classes resume on Thursday, January 2, 2020.

T1 Grades Posted

As of yesterday (Wednesday 12/11) at 3pm you are able to access your child's grades via the ASPEN portal.

Grade 6 families should be aware that this is the year we begin to transition your children to letter grades, which you will see for your child's core subjects. Boys Youth Lacrosse - Winter Clinic & Spring Registration


Boys Youth Lacrosse Registration for Spring 2020 is open now! Practice will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays with games played on Sundays.

In addition, a winter clinic will be held on Sunday afternoons from January to March. This winter clinic is a great opportunity for new players to start to learn the fundamentals of lacrosse and for experienced players to knock off the rust.

Beverly Girls Youth Lacrosse registration for the 2020 season is now open. It's for grades 1-8.  Indoor clinics start in January, practice begins in March, games in April.

Band Concert Tomorrow - Chorus Next Week

What better way to celebrate the season than with a holiday concert? We have 2 great concerts coming up! If you are attending, please use the back parking lot and enter at the door by the gym and  auditorium.

BMS Band Concert
Thursday December 12 at 7:00 pm (will conclude by 8:30)
5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade Concert Bands will perform, as well as Flute Ensemble and the All-City Jazz Band
Performers should arrive at 6:00pm at their designated locations in the cafeteria.
No charge at the door, but bring some cash for concessions!

Tuesday, December 17 at 7:00 pm (will conclude around 8:15 pm)
Grades 5 -7 chorus students will perform
Performers should arrive by 6:30 pm in the auditorium
Chorus parents: donations for concessions will be requested next week - stay tuned for details.

Wear Red on Thursday for Pete Frates

In memory of Pete Frates, the student council will be promoting for students and staff to wear red tomorrow (Thusday). Students will be able to make donations during honmeroom. All money will be donated directly to the Peter Frates Family Foundation.

From Mr. Poska

Mr. Poska, Beverly Middle School Principal, has some information and reminders for you:
  • Trimester One Report Cards will be available for viewing on the Aspen Parent Portal beginning Wednesday, December 11th, 2019 at 3:00 PM. 
  •  Parents' Afternoon Back for the middle school will be held on Thursday, December 12th, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Parents/Guardians will have the opportunity to have brief, individual meetings with all of their child's teachers during this time frame. This also happens to be an early release day for the middle school. 
  • Early dismissal: All middle school students will be dismissed at 12:15 PM on the 12th and no lunch will be served. 
  • PD Day: Friday, December 13th, 2019 is a Professional Development Day for staff in the district and there is no school for students. 

What Kind of a "Day" Is It?

This handy calendar tells you if it's a "1 day" or a "4 day" -- figure out if your child will miss math for a dentist appointment or if he needs sneakers today for P.E.

Page one is December through March and page two is March (repeated) through June.

Lost and Found

With winter weather here the lost and found outside the library is filling up with warm jackets - as well as sweaters, shirts, sweatpants, gloves, mittens, hats, scarves, lunchboxes, boots, backpacks, umbrellas and more!

We tag everything weekly and donate items left for more than a month. Everything you see here has arrived since the beginning of November! Please be sure your child or you check here if they are missing items left somewhere at school.





Writers Club

Writers Club in Room 441 tomorrow (Tuesday) from 3:00-3:45

Babysitting Class

An American Red Cross babysitting class will be held at Glen Urquhart School on  Thursdays beginning in January.  Transportation is available from BMS to GUS. Registration deadline is  Friday, December 20.

Holiday Henna at BPL Tomorrow

Holiday Henna at the Beverly Public Library tomorrow, Monday, December 9 from 3:30 to 5:30. Get a henna tattoo and make a holiday craft! Snacks (as always) included. Open to grades 6-12.
