Marc Burns Memorial Meet

Attention all cross country runners: the Marc Burns Memorial Meet is this Wednesday, November 7th, here at Beverly Middle School. The Black and Orange teams will be competing for a great cause. Please bring canned goods and other non-perishable goods to the meet. Non-team members are encouraged to attend the meet to support your peers!

Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Beverly Middle School  Student Council is running a food drive to collect food for Beverly Bootstraps from October 29 through November 9. They are trying to collect some of the most-needed foods by focusing on particular items for each grade level.

  • Grade 5: Stuffing mix & canned vegetables
  • Grade 6: Cake/brownie/bread mixes and instant mashed potatoes
  • Grade 7: Canned gravy, chicken broth, cream of mushroom soup
  • Grade 8: Cranberry sauce & French's Fried Onions
Other items are welcome, but please no glass jars!  The collection box will be in the main lobby of the school, outside the office.




Election Day Food Drive

Help provide Thanksgiving meals to those in need by donating to the Election Day Food Drive!

When you vote on Tuesday, don't forget to bring one or some of the items below to donate in the bins at all polling locations in Beverly. Beverly Bootstraps depends on donations to the Election Day Food Drive to be able to provide all the fixin's to make a Thanksgiving meal to over 500 families each year.

Student Council

Just a reminder that the student council food drive will be going on for another week. Help us reach our goal of 1500 lbs. of food to donate to Beverly Bootstraps! Food can be dropped off outside the main office.

Also, the next student council meeting will be on Monday, November 5 at 3:05pm in room 313A. New members are always welcome!

Flag Football

Yesterday's Flag Football action was high octane despite the wet conditions. Boston College escaped Miami 25-13, Notre Dame took care of Penn St. 37-0, and Alabama outlasted Florida 19-6. Highlights included Jesse Timson's receiving and running skills, Kyle Heckman's 60 Yard TD reception, and Connor Connolly's one-hand interception.  Next week's games:

Gr 6 - Nature's Classroom Payments

Thank you to all who sent in in your first or full payment for your student's 6th grade Nature's Classroom trip.

At this time we are experiencing a transitional delay on deposits to our student activities account. Due to that, we are rearranging the trip payment dates and amounts.

Therefore we are NOT collecting the Nov. 2nd payment.
The next payment will be for $150 due on Dec. 7th, 2018. We appreciate your patience while this issue is being resolved.

Holiday Craft Fair Tomorrow at BHS

The BHS Class of 2019 is sponsoring a Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday, November 3 from 9am to 3pm in the BHS Field House.

With more than 50 crafters, you can get your holiday shopping done early at the BHS Holiday Craft Fair Sat. Nov. 3, 9 - 3 in the BHS Field House. There will also be raffles, a face painter, and more. This is a fundraiser for the senior class of 2019.

  • Monday, December 24 through Tuesday, January 1 - December Vacation
There are early release days on the following days. Lunch is not served on early release days.



  • Wednesday, November 21 - 1:00 release for Thanksgiving Holiday
  • Thursday, December 6 - 12:15 release for Parent Afternoon Back
Please note that Friday, December 21 is a full school day. Students will be released at 3:00 pm.

Flag Football

Yesterday's Flag Football action was well-played by all teams. The Chiefs narrowly escaped the Rams, 15-7, and the Patriots played team ball and beat the Packers 54-17. Highlights included Noah Staffier pulling in a 60 yard TD catch from Brayson Green, while Devon Smalls dominated on both sides of the ball.

The YMCA Girl Power program begins on November 13. It meets Tuesdays at 3:15 right here at Beverly Middle School and is open to students in grades 6-8.

Honors Choir

The Honors choir will meet every Monday 3-4pm starting next week. Rehearsals will be in the auditorium. Auditions are still open this week. Students need to see Mrs. Nearis to set up a time.

Women's Flag Football Tournament 11/25

The First Annual Women's Flag Football Tournament will be held at Beverly High School on  Sunday, November 25 starting at 10:00 am. Register with your friends as a team or you can just sign up yourself as an individual!

Flag Football Action

Yesterday's Flag Football games witnessed jam-packed action from the very start. Ohio St. was victorious over Penn St. 30-6, as Meredith Johnson both threw for and intercepted balls for touchdowns. Daniel Wilder was a bright spot for Penn St. using shifty moves to move his team down the field. In the 6th grade division, Georgia outlasted Florida 22-15, as Vincent Bilotti caught a touchdown with about a minute to go in the game. Florida's last-minute Hail Mary by Ray Kwiatek was caught at the one-yard line as time expired! Great effort by all teams!

The next Flag Football games are Wednesday, October 31st, where the Patriots play the Packers, and the Rams take on the Chiefs!

Centerville Holiday Craft Fair 11/10

Centerville School is holding a Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday, November 10 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. More than 75 local crafters and vendors will be there.

Chess and Cribbage Board Donations Needed

Due to overwhelming success, Mrs. Wood-Bell, who is running the Chess & Cribbage Club after school on Tuesdays, is looking for donations of extra chess and cribbage boards. If you have any you can give her, please drop them off at the office for her or email her at cwoodbell@beverlyschools.org. 

Book Club & Movies at Public Library

The Beverly Public Library has a pizza book club each term! This term the book is When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead and it will meet on Wednesday 11/7 from 3:45-4:45.
