Meal Pickups Friday & Next Week

On Friday February 12, Food Services will be providing an additional meal at Beverly High School for all families for the upcoming winter break. They will extend pick up hours to 10:30-12:30 to allow families picking up students at elementary schools to get meals at the high school as well.

Next week we will be distributing multiple meals on Tuesday February 16 and Friday February 19 at Beverly High School from 10:30-11:30.

If you are part of the RLA weekly pickup your time remains the same, Wednesday February 17 from 12:30-1:30. If you are unable to pick up meals this week please contact Christina Leal, Director of Food Services at 978-921-6132 ext 11129.

Gr 7 Families: Important Reminder from the Health Office

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health requires that all students in grade 7 (as well as 1, 4, and 10) have a current copy of their updated immunizations and physical exam on file in the school’s Health Office.

We are asking that you please send in a copy of your child’s most recent physical exam with a record of their updated immunizations. You can also email a copy of these items to ktobyne@beverlyschools.org

If your child has a physical exam scheduled in the near future, please send in a copy to the Health office as soon as their exam is completed. You can also have the doctor’s office fax a copy to the school’s health office at fax# 978-529-2170.

Vacation Week Next Week

Next week is our annual February school vacation week, from Monday, February 15 through Friday, February 19. No classes, either in-person or online will be held.

As a reminder, should you travel out of state during this time, the state returning residents who do not meet an exemption to quarantine for 10 days or produce a negative COVID-19 test result that has been administered up to 72-hours prior to your arrival in Massachusetts. Details on the Massachusetts travel order are online.

Summer Camp & Activities

Some summer camps and programs in the Beverly area have begun registration, others begin very soon, and others have not yet announced their plans.

Local Food & Housing Assistance

If you have lost income during these difficult months, please check these resources that may be of help. 

This document that contains several resources and organizations ready to help families who may have been adversely impacted by COVID and/or are in need of community support to for food and housing needs, fuel assistance and other direct services. 

Kindergarten Registration

If you or anyone you know has a rising kindergardener, online registration is now open for the fall.  Please note, in order to register for the 2021-22 school year a child must be 5 years old by August 31, 2021.

To register a child for kindergarten for the 2021/2022 school year, go to https://register.beverlyschools.org/ and click on the blue link that says "Kindergarten Registration". If you need assistance with the registration process, please call 978-921-6100 x21735.

Mid-Year iPad Checkup

Now that we're halfway through the year it's a good time for your child to do a little iPad checkup!

They should 

  • have and up-to-date operating system 
  • have adequate storage (minimum of 1 GB, preferably more)
  • have automatic updates turned on

They should also be doing a few things regularly (ideally, daily)

  • plugging in the iPad overnight with it ON so that it receives software updates
  • doing a hardware reset

Get Books To Read Over Vacation

 This February vacation will be a great time to read a good book!

Students may request a BMS library book with this online form.

If students do not know what they want, there is a way to ask for suggestions.

There are also some great giveaway books still available. Check the list here and use this form to request a giveaway book.

Books will be delivered to hybrid students' classrooms. Remote students may pick them up at the school office, or they will be delivered to their homes (this option may take a little longer).

We also encourage all students to download and install the Sora app from self service to get access to thousands of books in the Commonwealth MLS ebook collection and to access Beverly Public Library Overdrive ebooks without needing a card!

Art Club Starts Feb. 23

The BMS Art Club meets online on Tuesdays at 3:15 starting after vacation on Feb. 23.
