Essex Tech Virtual Open House 11/21

Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School will premiere a Virtual Open House on Saturday, November 21, 2020. There will be a series of videos about Essex North Shore and an interactive virtual tour of the school building.

Beverly Girls Travel Basketball

The Beverly Girls Travel Basketball season is kicking off with try-outs next week! All girls in grades 4-8 are invited to try out for one of the teams which are being held in the Teen Center gyms at the Sterling YMCA. Please visit the sign-up link to register for your grade-team tryout. All girls should bring their own basketball and water bottle and wear sneakers and a mask/gaiter.   • Monday, November 9 - 5th grade (5:30-7pm) and 6th grade (7:15-8:45pm)
  • Tuesday, November 10 - 8th grade (5:30-7pm) and 7th grade (7:15-8:45pm)
  • Friday, November 13 - 4th grade (5:30-7pm) and additional try-out time/suggested if you missed your first tryout (7:15-8:45pm)

Resilient Together Survey Deadline Sunday

The Cities of Beverly and Salem have officially kicked off Resilient Together, a collective plan to address climate change.

Resilient Together invites residents and business owners – including students – to participate in an online survey where you can share concerns and priorities as they relate to the environment and community resiliency. It takes approximately five minutes to complete and will be active until Sunday, November 8th. 

The survey is also offered in Spanish and in Portuguese. A printable copy of the survey is available on the project website in Albanian as well.

Field Hockey Congrats!

Congratulations to our own Middle School field hockey team for scoring 2 more goals in Wednesday’s final game vs. Danvers. Goals were scored by 8th graders Julianna Alden and Julie O’Connor! Great work, ladies! Please return your washed uniforms to Coach McGrath in rm 444 as soon as possible.

Digital Safety Presentation Next Week

Make sure Thursday, November 12 at 6 pm is on your calendar!

We are excited to welcome Katie LeClerc Greer, a nationally-recognized digital safety expert, to update students, teachers, administrators, and parents/guardians/caregivers on the latest tech trends, safety issues, and tips on how to help our kids have a productive, healthy relationship with technology. Thank you to the PTO for their support of this important program.

This parent presentation is in addition to presentations students will receive during the school day.

No School Tuesday

A reminder that there are no classes for students - in person or online - tomorrow, Tuesday, November 3. This is a professional development day for Beverly teachers.

There are also no classes on Wednesday, November 11, in observance of Veterans' Day. All school buildings and offices are closed.

Reminder: Come to School Dressed for the Weather

Please try to make sure your child comes to school dressed for the weather each day, particularly as it gets colder. Students typically go outdoors for a mask and snack break every day unless the weather is really inclement.
