Remote Access Tech Support
If your student is having some technical issues with accessing our online resources, we have a few tips:
- Turn the iPad all the way off - make sure the screen with the slider comes up and then you "slide to power off". Leave it all the way off for at least 30-60 seconds before restarting it. This will take care of a remarkable number of "glitchy" issues.
- Not seeing your Google Classroom? See this presentation about making sure you are logged in correctly with Google Classroom
- For more technical support questions, go to the Tech Support section of the Beverly Keeps Learning website.

Wednesday Message from the Superintendent
Good Afternoon Beverly Parents, Families and Staff,
Today, Governor Baker announced that he is extending the school closure until at least May 4th.
Today, Governor Baker announced that he is extending the school closure until at least May 4th.
I want to assure you that we are well stationed to move ahead but will need to hear what guidance and directives the Commissioner has for us on Friday regarding the parameters of this phase of distance learning. Commissioner Riley will issue a public message to parents tomorrow that may provide a glimpse into the direction he envisions. We will forward that communication to you via Connect Ed as well as post it on our Beverly Keeps Learning website.
I believe our Beverly Keeps Learning platform, as well as our commitment to rethink what it means to provide remote, at-home learning, will prove to be extremely helpful to our families as move forward. The Governor and the Commissioner both spoke about the importance of project based learning, further evidence that Beverly's strategic goals align well with their vision. I continue to be proud of the tremendous efforts of our students, staff and administrators during the closure, and I know that we will continue to provide your child with the best opportunities for learning possible during this difficult situation.
Please take care to follow the recommended advisories - stay healthy and safe!
Thank you,
Sue Charochak, Ed.D.

I hope you are finding ways to fill your day and making the best of this unexpected time with your families. For those of you who work in essential roles, thank you for the important contribution you are making. I want to extend a huge thank you to the men and women who have been working non-stop for the past two weeks to keep our breakfast and lunch program going. Furthermore, please remember to extend an extra thank you to your principals, teachers and staff who have gone above and beyond to keep your child engaged and learning! If you have not been able to connect to our website, please reach out to your teacher or building principal. You can contact them through email via the Aspen Parent Portal!

I want to share that beginning tomorrow, students in our elementary schools will find links in the Beverly Keeps Learning site that will lead your child to a unique page for their school and teacher. Our middle school and high school students have already had access to Moodle and Google Classrooms.
Please remember, our continued focus for At-Home learning at this time is on enrichment and deeper learning experiences. No grades or attendance will be recorded for your child, but we do hope that they will find the work engaging and participate to keep on learning during our closure. Please continue to adhere to the stay at home advisory and healthy practices such as hand-washing and practicing social distancing. Together, these practices can work to reduce everyone’s risk for illness and keep each other safe and healthy.
Thank you,

Sunday Message from the Superintendent
Good Evening Beverly Parents and Families,
I am writing to all of you tonight to check in as we embark on Week Two of our Distance Learning Journey! This week was certainly an interesting one. It was the first time that many of us have been faced with finding new and creative ways to help our students learn without the benefit of seeing them face to face. I want to take a moment to thank all of the principals, administrators, staff members and teachers for diving in and taking the opportunity to learn alongside each other as we searched for ways to connect with all of you and provide your child some awesome enrichment opportunities to help fill their day with new and exciting learning. I hope that your children are enjoying the activities we have added to the website. Please have them check in each day. We will update our site throughout the week, but there is so much to explore, I hope you continue to find new and engaging things to learn about. Whether you go to the newly added GBH Discovery Center, try Lexia for the first time, explore the awesome Code.org activities, or join your teacher in your Google Classroom, we believe there are great opportunities for your child to expand their knowledge base and find fun, engaging activities. And remember, not all the activities are designed to be digital based. Many of the suggested tasks ask your child to try new things, like cooking, yoga, becoming explorers in their own home and problem solving without the use of a device! You will be hearing more from me and from your child’s principal in the coming week - and for all the elementary students, we look forward to launching your school specific sites early in the week where you will be able to be more closely connected to your building, your principal and your own classroom teachers!! In the meantime, please remember that you and your child are not alone in this journey! Encourage your child to reach out to their teachers and their principals if they need any help or have any questions! We are here to help you all along the way! In addition, we will continue to serve breakfast and lunch at our four locations. If there are any changes to our sites or distribution, we will reach out and let you know! We are looking forward to continuing our learning journey with you and your child! Once again, thank you for your partnership and please let me know if we can help you in any way!
Thank you,
Sue Charochak, Ed. D.
