Attention French 8 students, parents and guardians!
As a capping event for our unit on "La cuisine française," we will join together on Thursday, October 24, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for a community supper.
The event will take place at BMS in the first floor cafeteria.
This will be a chance for students (with help from home) to make and share the dishes they have learned about and to celebrate French culture through its food.
Madame Diop, our new Grade 7 French teacher, will be joining us.
Please know that if you are not able to bring a dish, you are still welcome to attend. I will be making a few dishes myself, so there should be enough for everyone.
Questions? Contact Madame Faria at lfaria@beverlyschools.org.

Author Kate Allen visited BMS yesterday from Minneapolis for 2 fantastic assemblies with our 7th and 8th graders. She talked about her book, The Line Tender, which is set locally and involves friends, family -- and sharks!
Thank you @kateallenbooks for presenting to our 7th and 8th graders today! #beverlyhistory #wearebeverlyschools #becoolbebravebms pic.twitter.com/NXDasLB0Ie— Beverly Middle School (@beverlyms_cubs) October 3, 2019

We hope you will consider encouraging your kids to participate!
Also, the annual Jim Munn Invitational Meet will be held at Stage Fort Park in Gloucester one week later, on Thursday, October 24th. This is also an optional meet. See this flyer for more information.
The league NEC meet date is still TBD, and will be held at Stage Fort Park Gloucester. Last year we were limited in the number of runners who were eligible for this meet, so stay tuned.

Thursday, October 3 from 6:30 to 8 PM - Sohier Room, Main Library

The students read a wide range of books, from the heart-pounding Dread Nation, to the adventurous Metropolitans, to the gripping Monday’s Not Coming. Students produced creative responses to the books they read, including drawings, posters, paintings, dioramas, and more. Beverly native Kate Allen will be a guest at this event, reading from her book, The Line Tender, which was featured on the middle school list this year.
