Message from the Superintendent

The following message from Superintendent Sue Charochak was sent out on Thursday afternoon and is replicated here for your reference.

Good Afternoon Beverly School Community,

The School Committee voted at its meeting on Wednesday evening to transition the district’s elementary schools back to fully in-person learning on Monday, April 5th and its middle school back to fully in-person learning on Monday, April 12th. Parents will still have a choice for their children to learn remotely through the end of this school year.

In addition to identifying the start date, the school committee vote approved the following return to school arrival and dismissal schedule:

Elementary School - Monday, April 5
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday (7:55-2:00)
Wednesday (7:55-12:00)

Middle School - Monday, April 12
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday (8:45-3:00)
Wednesday (8:45-1:00)

As I shared last week, the High School will return with the following schedule:

High School
Seniors only - Monday, March 22nd
Five (5) days per week (8:15 - 11:50 in person; 12:50 - 2:33 Remote)
Juniors, Sophomores, Freshman - Monday, March 29th
2/3 Model (8:15 - 11:50 in person; 12:50 - 2:33 Remote)

I want to thank the entire school community for your continued patience and understanding as we work toward the goal of reopening our schools to full in person learning. We are aware how significantly these transitions and timelines impact our staff, students and families. You will receive a communication with a link to a survey via email in the coming days. Please respond with your model selection as this will be important to our transition planning.

Thank you,
Sue Charochak, Ed.D.
