Driveway Construction Begins Monday
In an effort to provide more safety and improve the traffic flow at the Balch Street entrance of the middle school, contractors will begin widening the driveway on Monday, December 10th. Work will continue for approximately 10 days and during that time only one lane will be accessible from 7:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., which will impact morning drop off.
There will be a traffic detail with officers stationed at each end of the work zone and although the driveway will continue to support two-way traffic, while the work is being done, there will only be one lane available.
We anticipate some delay in the morning. During afternoon pick-up the driveway will be back to normal as work will be completed for the day and the driveway will return to two lanes. Please consider dropping your students off prior to getting to the driveway and letting them walk the rest of the way.
We appreciate your cooperation while this work is being performed.

From the Sports Desk
Yesterday's Flag Football games were some of the most thrilling of the season! Each game was decided in the last 2 minutes of the game. Alabama narrowly escaped Georgia 32 to 30, Texas inched out LSU 26 to 24, and Ohio St. won on a last minute TD catch over Boston College. Star players featured Lucas Carbone who threw for 5 TD passes, Micah McManus who threw for 4 TD passes, Cody Belanger who caught a 75-yard TD bomb, Colby Malionek who scampered in for a TD through a full team of defenders, and Kyle Heckman who was making plays all over the field! Great job by all teams!

Wesley Roberts through a 70-yard TD bomb, Mark Beatty returned an interception for a TD, Aidan Rotondo had an end zone I.N.T., and Eva Faletra scored the game-winning TD catch for Auburn!

Lost & Found Items - Get Yours Now!
The current Lost and Found area outside the library is overflowing with expensive jackets, sweaters, shirts, lunchboxes and more. There are more lost & found items near the gym. We are in the process of getting coat racks and more boxes in to keep things more organized and clean. Thank you to a wonderful parent, Rachel, who brought in her own rack to begin the process but there's lots more that didn't even fit on the double rack!
Please urge your child to check this area immediately if they have lost anything or stop by to check it yourself.
By Thanksgiving all lost items unclaimed by their owners will be bagged up and removed from the school.

Alumni Day at BMS
Today was Alumni Day at BMS. Many staff members wore shirts from the school where they went for college or graduate school. While many went to schools in New England, there are others who either come from further afield or who left the area to go to school. It's a great way to start a conversation about how there are many pathways to success.
If you are interested, you can see a map that shows schools our staff have attended.

iPad Charging Reminders
Please be sure your 7th/8th grader is fully charging their iPad at night.
- Quit all applications, particularly YouTube, before charging it. Make sure your screen is off. Having some applications running in the background can drain the battery quickly during and after charging.
- Use only the charging block and cord issued with the iPad. We advise that you label these and store them separately so that you have them ready for use now and so they are available to be turned in when the iPad is returned. The iPad chargers are rated at 12 watts, compared to to the 5 watts for most phone chargers. If you plug an iPad into a lower wattage charger it will take much longer than it would with the correct plug. Low quality and faulty cords can also affect charging.
If your child needs to come to the tech center because of problems with charging, please first be sure you are following these recommendations, and ask your child to bring in the charging block and cord being used when s/he had trouble.
